Boarding Homes Ministry

The purpose of the Boarding Homes Ministry is to build the Christian Community by linking church visitors and the residents of boarding homes.  We gather at the homes each week to worship together, sing, pray and develop healing relationships.  The homes we visit are sometimes crowded yet the residents are lovely, most of whom suffer from a mental illness or are physically challenged.  It is a very rewarding ministry for us,  and we believe for the residents as well.  It warms our hearts to have been so readily accepted into the "homes."  They have countless blessings to offer and are a source of inspiration.

In early August, 2008 we were very pleased to have a visit from Rev. Rodger Hunter, whose vision led to the establishment of the Boarding Homes Ministry within the Presbyterian Church in Canada.  Rodger met with members of the team and offered words of advise and encouragement and also joined them on a visit to Walkerville Manor.

This committee feels truly blessed in all the support we receive from so many volunteers and the entire congregation.
